Bryant Associates, Inc is Hiring an INSPECTOR Near Landover, MD

The Inspector will be a key member of the Bryant ConstructionManagement Team in our Landover, MD office, where he/she will inspect of job sites for a wide range ofpublic and private sector clients, to enable their successful completion. Workwill be done in support of our multi-disciplinary Survey, Engineering(Site/Civil, Structural and Traffic) and Construction Management firm.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Inspector will perform on-site inspection ofall construction activities on work jobs as directed. Work is carried out withconsiderable independence and requires thorough knowledge of appropriateconstruction practices and codes.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (other duties may beassigned)

  • Coordinates work with the contractor
  • Observes all phases of construction activities for compliance withdesign documents and client standards
  • Documents work as performed
  • Reviews contractor requisitions for payment
  • Prepares daily reports and attends progress meetings
  • Manages quality and safety of projects and ensures schedules aremet

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions based on engineeringdesign criteria
  • Familiarity with general construction techniques
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plansand construction documents for desired infrastructurerehabilitation, replacement and upgrades
  • Detail oriented
  • Problem solver
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Able to build and maintain strongrelationships with contractor and staff
  • Solid project management and organizational skills
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Desire to work in a team environment
  • Observes and enforces company and client safety requirements
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drivingrecord check
  • Ability to pass a background check 
  • Ability to pass a drug test

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Applicable NICET Level Certification. Training will be provided ifneeded.
  • 5 years of related experience with water/wastewaterinfrastructure projects and/or transportation projects
  • OSHA 10-hour Training and Confined Space Entry certificationbeneficial. Training will be provided if needed.

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Ability to carry instruments and equipment
  • Lift 50 pounds
